It is a process that assures that all the tasks and procedures are being performed and followed systematically and consistently by everyone to ensure we reach the desired outcome as originally expected and envisaged.

In the case of your project, we will ensure that your stakeholders have peace of mind knowing that all hardware components being delivered have been preconfigured, initialized; assigned, and fully tested by Clarity IoT QA Team before being delivered to you, the Client.

Quality Assurance not only helps to decrease costs, and increase profitability but also impacts productivity.

Quality Assurance (QA) is a vital and essential part of the Clarity IoT delivery process and offers a truly end-to-end production level IoT system QA performing vigorous testing and ensuring that it checks all the nitty-gritty details throughout the entire process is especially important.

Below are the steps that are performed before any delivery:

1. Delivery Order Initialization

In this step, the Bill of Materials (product to be delivered) is set up in the Clarity Delivery system outlining the Client’s name, address, LoRa gateways requirements, and specific sensors required by the client. This is known as the pick and pack list. This packing list is used throughout the Quality Assurance Process and guides the quality assurance process.

2. CLient Initialization

This step has Clarity IoT setting up a customer account for the new client that is linked to the subscriber. Information such as customer address, user account setup, reporting setup, and other important parameters are set up in the software in preparation for setting up the customer gateway(s).

3. LoRa Gateway Initialization

In this step, a Clarity LoRa gateway is set up in the software and a unique Gateway number is assigned to the client account. Testing is performed at this point to make sure the gateway is reporting to the Clarity IoT software and cloud database.

4. Unit Initialization and Labeling

The units being delivered are assigned a unique number and linked to the Clarity IoT LoRa gateway that has been assigned to the customer. A unique label is printed for each component containing Gateway Number, Device number, sensor number, and Client name.  Initial testing is performed at this point by powering up the unit and making sure data is being properly recorded in the Client’s area of the Clarity Cloud database (i.e., validate last check-in date/time stamps).

5. Unit Initialization and Labeling

The units being delivered are assigned a unique number and linked to the Clarity IoT LoRa gateway that has been assigned to the customer. A unique label is printed for each component containing Gateway Number, Device number, sensor number, and Client name.  Initial testing is performed at this point by powering up the unit and making sure data is being properly recorded in the Client’s area of the Clarity Cloud database (i.e., validate last check-in date/time stamps).

6. Final Validation

The data captured for each unit is verified and validated by an independent Quality Assurance specialist making sure each sensor has reported the required data to the cloud database properly.

7. Product Packaging and Delivery

At this stage, each gateway, sensor, and component has been tested and signed off by two quality assurance analysts before delivery. The order is then packed securely using quality packaging materials and a Tracking number is generated for delivery to the client. Clarity IoT usually uses standard shipping methods unless specified in the delivery order

8. CONCLUSION

The above processes will be performed by each resource assigned to the delivery of the product. The checklist provided to each resource will be followed to make sure that each resource is following the same steps. This process is capable of scaling up to testing 1000+ sensors per month by increasing the resources performing these pre-determined documented steps and tests.
